How can it really be almost 23 years since I moved out of number 14 (next door)?

Mighty fine Christmas y’all.

Lesley and Dougie Noble Dec 21, 2021

God bless you and your wonderful family x
It’s been a hard 2 years for us having lost my Mam and our nephew Scott the year before we went into a lockdown trying to look after my dad with dementia.
Awful awful times in the care home . Only saw family on doorstep last Christmas and didn’t see our youngest Lucy Craig and granddaughter Niamh who had been stuck in New Zealand till the summer then back into lockdown at Christmas. Fortunately all the family managed to see beloved “grandad Joe from Mexico” before he died in May.
Family mean everything which if you don’t learn as a new parent is tragic.
Retired from Childline sadly but major need for me to try get back next year as the awful news on TV broke our hearts.
Xx

I’m fine and have lots of empathy for Howard’s circumstances this year. I support people with cancer through Macmillan buddy system. Also on the NCRI upper GI working group, helping to set up a clinical trial. I am also President of the NLD referees society and coach several referees. It would be good to meet up in spring 22 . All the best for Christmas and the new year to both of you and all your family.

Martin and Nelleke Dec 18, 2021

Dear Annie and Howard, thanks very much for your extensive newsletter again. Always a joy to read! Eventful year indeed, but then again, in certain ways not at all. The Maritime Museum Rotterdam was closed until the 3rd of June. The only eventful happening during that period was the staggering loss recorded over 2020 when the year accounts were finished. O well.

I shall say goodbye to the museum and the wonderful world of haute finance come July 2022. Looking forward to that.

Other than this, all well with us. Yoran and Sarahjane are set to visit us from coming Monday and will land smack in the middle of another lockdown until 14th of Jan. Once again….o well….

Take care, happy holidays and a to all intents and purposes perfect 2022!
Nelleke and Martin

 Jane Fucella Dec 18, 2021

Much love, Jane and Mike

 Jeff Sanderson Dec 23, 2020

Lovely to see all the photos and get the news about your family. Obviously a very professional website!

Pleased that you are all surviving the Covid. Also that you had a good cycling holiday on IOW. I took my, now very ancient (1992), Brompton folder over once and cycled from Yarmouth to Carisbrooke. Val managed to hire a bike so we had some rides together.

We are both OK and walking, cycling – also gardening, painting, tidying up but sadly no drumming (me) – jigsaw puzzles, reading a lot and playing the ukulele (Val)

Wishing you all a good Christmas and looking forward to better things in 2021.

Love Jeff and Val

Martin and Nelleke Dec 22, 2020

Thanks for the elaborate Christmas update as always, we really enjoyed it.

Have a great Christmas and New Year, fingers crossed for a better and brighter future, in or out of the EU.

Love from all of us,
Nelleke, Imre, Yoran (from the UK) and Martin

 Greta Thornbory Dec 12, 2020

Happy Christmas to you both Howard & Annie. My goodness what a big family and who are they all? You mention lots of names but no idea whose who! And Howard I am exhausted reading about all your gigs this year and it makes me feel very lazy, but then I have a dog with a broken leg and a husband with Alzheimer’s and a few years on you both. I have had my bus pass and pension for 16 years (but only stopped working in 2015). Next year Nigel and I will have been married 40 years and together 44.

Let us hope and pray 2021 will be a better year for everybody. Best wishes, Greta
